We even talk a little about the new Star Wars film and the chances of anime in the upcoming Academy Awards.

Kent and Shamus are joined by our friends Dan and Lucca of Solid State Society, a group in Orlando that hosts anime showings and events at conventions!

We're going to discuss the most popular anime of the year, One Punch Man, and go round table style to discuss all our other favorite anime of the year. Lots of great variety! We also discuss some of our plans for 2016 and what anime we're most excited about this year.

This episode is going to be special! Fresh off our successful holiday charity party is a 1-on-1 interview that Kent has conducted with our headliner for that party: The Otaku King, Richie Branson!

Richie is an accomplished music producer and nerdcore hiphop artist who saved Toonami and has rapped about your favorite anime including Cowboy Bebop, Attack on Titan, Gundam, Kill La Kill, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Fist of the North Star.

In this interview, we talk about Richie Branson's rise as a nerdcore hiphop artist, how he got into anime, his love for all things Gundam, THAT infamous show with mc chris, and the good and bad of playing at anime conventions.

We also dive into Richie's latest projects, including his Star Wars x Notoriuos B.I.G. mashup, Life After Death Star, which is making major waves on Billboard, MTV, io9,  and Yahoo Music. Oh, and we talk about upcoming Star Wars film, The Force Awakens.

We're well into the fall and we are blessed with tons of great anime and different ways to watch it all. Kent and Shamus saw the NEW Ghost in the Shell movie in theaters and we discuss that and the Arise series it followed up. We also talk Seven Deadly Sins, Netflix's anime initiative, Space Adventure Cobra on Crunchyroll, the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure community, and the downfall of Bleach.

And we talk about nonsense at conventions!

NekoCon in Virginia had a nerdcore concert that they CANCELED after ONE SONG due to "unforseen circumstances" but we have the scoop on that and how people in the community are looking to fix things with the NPC Music Festival

Plus we talk with how poorly fan panels are handled are our local cons. All this and more on this action-packed episode of Propeller Anime Radio!

We are back from a long hiatus! The summer ended up being extremely busy for us but we are back with a fantastic new episode of Propeller Anime Radio

This time, Kent and Shamus talk about one of Japan's most critically acclaimed directors, one Mamoru Hosoda! He's famous for directing Summer WarsWolf Children, and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

We'll be discussing the amazing career of Mamoru Hosoda, including his start at Toei with Digimon Adventure and One Piece, all his movies to date, and look toward his soon-to-be-in-America film, The Boy and The Beast.

Of course, since he is the heir apparent to Hayao Miyazaki's throne, we compare and contrast their styles and even see how Hosoda fares against other modern anime directors like Takeshi Koike and Makoto Shinkai. This is a fun podcast that you don't want to miss!

In this episode of Propeller Anime Radio, we bring in the guy who broke Kent into the anime community here in Orlando nearly a decade ago, Vinz Clortho! Now you know who to thank! (Or blame, if you are the scourge of anime community villainy!) Formerly of Orange Anime and now of Solid State Society, Vinz has spent over five years traveling all of Asia, including Japan!

We discuss Vinz’s travels, including what anime culture was like in Tokyo during his time there. Plus, we talk about the old days of Orange Anime and what it is like now, running anime groups, breaking into hosting events at conventions, the state of anime at MegaCon, and tales of the legendary Spooky Electric!

We even make time to talk about anime!

Solid State Society is a new group in the Orlando area hosting social events for anime fans, just like us! They have their first event at The Geek Easy on Saturday, May 16th! They’ll be hosting a Berserk marathon with a drinking game, prizes, and trivia! We also talk about that and other things Solid State Society has cooking!

Speaking of watching anime, we have Anime Nite Orlando on May 21st! It’s Macross May! Make sure you RSVP and come out!

 Download Episode #14!

In this episode, we look at the largest gathering of geeks in Florida, the latest big anime announcements, and Studio Ghibli's latest movie!

MegaCon, Florida's all-encompassing geek media mecca, took place this past weekend at the Orange County Convention Center. Kent and Shamus give the rundown on that, the major happenings, the feedback, and the convention's anime presence.

We even go over a panel report from Juan Sanmiguel of the Orlando Science Fiction Society from Sunday's panel "Anime 2014: What to Expect" Thanks, Juan!

Then we change gears to all the tremendous news that broke out in the world of anime that everyone missed while going to MegaCon! A new Lupin the 3rd movie directed by Takeshi Koike, a new season of Psycho Pass, new Shinichiro Watanabe anime(besides Space Dandy), the Attack on Titan English cast announcements, and more!

Finally, we give our thoughts on Hayao Miyazaki's final film, The Wind Rises, including the low gross at the U.S. Box office and what that could mean for future anime theatrical releases.

Check out all our podcast episodes in the archive and come out to Anime Nite Orlando on April 17th! (If you can handle it!)

It's lucky number thirteen as far as episodes of Propeller Anime Radio go! We sure hope nothing bad happens on this podcast!

We talk a little about O.G. Full Metal Alchemist vs Brotherhood. Then we get into the upcoming MegaCon and its anime track(that we will not be a part of), including some of the after-parties going on.

Afterward, we get into the live-action Akira and how Frenchie LeDouche's disrespect of the source material could adversely affect the films he was to direct. Plus, Miyazaki rants about the otaku-filled anime industry and our take on it.

Last but not least, we cover Space Dandy, the hot, new anime from Shinichiro Watanabe! (Cowboy Bebop, Kids on the Slope) It currently airs every Saturday night at 11:30pm on Cartoon Network's Toonami block. It's getting a polarizing reaction but what do WE think of it?

Don't forget that we have a fun-filled weekend!

Music: "Overkill" by Cashamill Anime Boy, Space Dandy Opening and Closing songs.
